![]() The ORM sessions of the ASC course begin with the assumption that the attendee has completed initial fleet ORM training. ASC attendees are expected to have a solid understanding of ORM fundamentals. ORM is formalized in OPNAVINST 3500.39B / MCO 3500.27B. During the past decade, ORM has evolved and become an integral part of naval operations, training, and planning. ORM was introduced into Naval Aviation in 1995 and implemented into the our curriculum that same year. Upon completion of the ASC course, you will be designated an Operational Risk Management (Instructor) or ORM(I). As such, Operational Risk Management (ORM) is embedded throughout the ASC curriculum. The School of Aviation Safety believes that operational safety is a key component of combat readiness. ALL students use UIC N52902(VT-86) as their command for the RMI SIM account.Use the same instructions in the PowerPoint slides above to create account.**Students will need an RMI SIM account for in class work.** Follow the instructions in the PowerPoint presentation How to access RMI-SIR.This account will be used as part of USN and USMC ASO duties in the fleet and for training while here at SAS. We have observed that the more the student is prepared upon arrival, the easier the transition back into an academic environment. The ASO course moves at a very rapid pace.
